Both arms always tucked for parathyroidectomy and thyroidectomy

For parathyroidectomies – first blood draw during patient positioning, 3 more draws after parathyroid gland is removed. Prefers foot IV for these draws but large bore arm vein if foot veins are bad. However both arms will be tucked

For parathyroidectomies, ask her if she wants a NIM tube, but always use NIM tube for thyroidectomies
